President Tebboune chairs the periodic meeting of the High Security Council

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense chaired, Tuesday, the periodic meeting of the High Security Council, devoted to the evaluation of the general situation of the country on the political and security levels, according to a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense chaired, Tuesday, the periodic meeting of the High Security Council, devoted to the evaluation of the general situation of the country on the political and security levels, according to a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.

"The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense chaired, Tuesday, April 6, 2021, the periodic meeting of the High Security Council, devoted to the evaluation of the general situation of the country on the political and security levels," reads the statement.

"After listening to the interventions of the members of the High Security Council on the issues on the agenda, the President of the Republic welcomed the efforts made by the institutions of the State for the preparation of the parliamentary elections of June 12, 2021, emphasizing the imperative to take all necessary measures to ensure the success of this deadline," added the same source.

"The High Security Council has also considered the subversive acts and serious slippage emanating from separatist circles and illegal movements close to terrorism, which exploit the weekly marches," the same source said.

In this regard, "the President of the Republic said that the state will be uncompromising in the face of these slippages, which are outside the framework of democracy and human rights, giving instructions for the immediate and rigorous application of the law to put an end to these non-innocent activities and these unprecedented excesses, including against institutions and symbols of the state, and which attempt to hinder the democratic process and development in Algeria," concluded the statement.
