Opening of the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum in Algiers

Nearly 400 operators are participating in the work of the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum, launched this Saturday morning at the Hotel Aurassi in Algiers, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, accompanied by the Minister of Trade, Kamel Rezig, and the Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Haweij.

Nearly 400 operators are participating in the work of the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum, launched this Saturday morning at the Hotel Aurassi in Algiers, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, accompanied by the Minister of Trade, Kamel Rezig, and the Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Haweij.
 
The objective of this event is to "strengthen economic and trade cooperation and find opportunities for bilateral partnership in various economic sectors between the two countries," according to the Directorate for the Promotion and Support of Economic Exchanges of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which organized this forum in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry .
 
Organized in plenary sessions, workshops and bilateral meetings, the forum recorded the participation of 150 Libyan operators and 250 Algerian operators, representing various economic sectors, in addition to representatives of various chambers of commerce, industry, agriculture, employers' organizations and other government agencies in the economic field.
 
Meet the needs of the Libyan market
 
The first plenary session of the forum, scheduled for the morning, devoted, according to the Ministry of Commerce, to presentations of members of the Libyan delegation. This is to identify the investment needs for the reconstruction of Libya. The second session, scheduled for this afternoon, will expose the capabilities of Algerian companies, public and private, in terms of partnership.
 
Among the main areas of cooperation in which this forum is interested, energy, agricultural and food products, industrial and agricultural machinery, health, pharmaceuticals, electronics and household appliances, public works and construction materials, paper, education, tourism, consultancy and services.
 
A third plenary session is scheduled for the following day, Sunday morning, and will see the continuation of presentations on opportunities for bilateral partnerships, before the forum is closed at mid-day. In parallel with the work of the forum, an exhibition on Algerian products (goods and services) will be held at the Palais des Expositions (SAFEX) Pins Maritimes (Algiers) Sunday and Monday.
