Algeria reaffirms full support to Libyan authorities' efforts to restore stability

Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum reaffirmed Saturday Algeria's support for the efforts of the Libyan authorities to restore political and security stability in the country and achieve national reconciliation among all parties of the Libyan people.

Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum reaffirmed Saturday Algeria's support for the efforts of the Libyan authorities to restore political and security stability in the country and achieve national reconciliation among all parties of the Libyan people.

"I reiterate Algeria's support to the efforts of the Libyan authorities, namely the Presidential Council of the Government of National Unity, aimed at restoring political and security stability in Libya, achieving national reconciliation among all parties of the Libyan people, and unifying and strengthening state institutions, in anticipation of general, free and fair elections, which preserve the integrity and unity of the Libyan territory and put Libya back on the rails of reconstruction, prosperity and growth," said Mr. Boukadoum in his opening speech at the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum, held in Algiers.

The Forum whose work will last two days, aims to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Algeria and Libya and examine the opportunities for bilateral partnerships available between the various economic sectors of the two countries.

This event records the participation of 150 Libyan operators and 250 Algerian operators, representing various economic sectors, in addition to representatives of various chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture and those of employers' organizations and other government agencies in the economic field.

In parallel with the work of the forum, an exhibition on Algerian products (goods and services) will be held at the Palais des Expositions (SAFEX) Pins Maritimes (Algiers) Sunday and Monday.

Final preparations for the opening of the land border post Debdeb-Ghadames

Mr. Boukadoum, also said that Algeria, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the reopening of the land border crossing of Debdeb-Ghadames, was in the process of completing the final logistical and technical preparations for the opening of this border crossing in coordination with the Libyan side.

"The two parties are working to complete the final talks for the reopening of the shipping line between Tripoli and Algiers to exploit in the transport of goods, "said Boukadoum in his speech at the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum, opened Saturday at the Hotel Aurassi in Algiers.

"Algeria's ambition for the desired economic partnership with Libya is not limited to increasing the volume of trade, but rather to encourage the flow of mutual direct investment, establish joint ventures and participate in the capital of companies, in addition to other mechanisms to ensure the optimal use of major opportunities for cooperation between our two countries," he said.

In order to achieve this strategic approach, said Mr. Boukadoum, the Algerian authorities have taken a series of decisions and measures to provide the institutional and legal framework to enable Algerian and Libyan economic operators and businessmen to launch cooperation projects and partnerships that reach the level of great potential enjoyed by the economies of both countries.
